Preparing the Birdhouse
  1. Sand rough edges with extra fine sand paper. Wipe off excess dust with damp paper towel.
  2. Paint edges, roof top and shelf with Fresh Foliage paint. Allow to dry.
  3. Trace bird house shape on back of pattern paper and cut out. Apply adhesive to the bird house with foam brush. Position paper and glue in place. Repeat on back.
  4. Cut paper to reveal the rim on the round doorway in the front but not on the back. Use sand paper to smooth and distress the edges.
  5. Sponge brown ink around edges.
  6. Cut floral foam to fit into the window box. Glue in place.
Decorate with Birds and Butterflies
  1. Punch 10 Flourish shapes from Pink cardstock. Glue 8 to roof and 2 to bottom. Add gems to decorate.
  2. Stamp Swirl image from stamp set in black around opening of Birdhouse.
  3. Punch 3 Flourish swirls from Teal and Rose cardstock. Glue one Swirl on top of each stamped image. Add dots to swirls.
  4. Punch 3 Silhouette Butterflies from Pink, Teal and Rose cardstock. Bend wings of Rose Butterfly and attach to roof. Layer next two Butterflies. Fold and glue to each other and over the swirl as shown. Add Dimensional Butterfly over door rim.
  5. Punch several Birds in Pink and Teal cardstock. Color the feet, beak and add an eye with black marker on the pink standing bird. Glue to door rim using layers of Foam tape to fill the space.
  6. Glue 2 facing teal birds with wings added. Punch paper on one side and then turn paper over and punch the reverse side to get left and right wings.
  7. Cut wing from one bird in flight and glue to the back of another. Roll wings to add dimension.
Add Flowers
  1. Punch 12-15 leaves from green cardstock for flowers and to fill in flower box.
  2. Punch Silhouette and Buttercup flowers in solids and patterns to layer and attach.
  3. Punch Paper Blossoms-Baby Blooms.
  4. Punch Paper Blossoms-Petite Petals.
  5. Punch Paper Blossoms-Buttercup.
  6. Punch Paper Blossoms-Star Flower.
  7. Layer flower shapes as shown. Sponge brown ink around edges. Add leaves.
  8. Add 4” to 6” piece of floral wire to back of assembled flowers.
  9. Arrange in window box. Hang finished bird house and enjoy!
